In October work was done on the deadwood, the reinforcement between the keel and the sternpost. The separate part can be seen in the model. Another feature that stands out in the model is how far the last frames are going to rise above the sternpost.
First a tapered wedge is placed on the keel and after doing that the long deadwood. Later a knee will be placed on top of the deadwood.

Damaged and weak parts are cut out of the wood and replaced. A meticulous job!

on the keel.

Anticipating possible
deformation, caused by the
influence of sun and wind
on one side of the still
vulnerable construction, is an
special art in itself.
