On March 20, the "Gezelschap Heeren XVII" presented a maritime gift to the Stichting Historisch Schip 'De Delft'. This date is a very special one, since exactly 400 years ago, on March 20, 1602, The Dutch VOC was founded. The gift will exist of an historical sea chart of the coasts of England and Holland, dating from 1798, and two old engraved portraits, made by Hodges.

The "Gezelschap Heeren XVII" (Company of Seventeen Lords) is named after the group of leading officials of the former VOC. They are 17 residents of Rotterdam with predilection to maritime history. One of these gentlemen has recently supported 'De Delft', by donating four Oak trees.
